Decile rank provides a quantitative measure about the position/ranking of a suburb, Local Government Area or Postal Area in comparison with all other suburbs, Local Government Areas or Postal Areas. The distribution of values for all locations is divided into ten equal groups. The lowest 10% of values are given a decile rank of 1; the second-lowest 10% of values are given a decile rank of 2 and so on, up to the highest 10% of values which are given a decile rank of 10.
